Curating Art Exhibits at Verbode

I am curating quarterly art shows Verbode, a real estate group office in Oklahoma City. As an artist, it is super important to me that local artists can thrive in our own backyard. I have the opportunity to cultivate and promote that idea in a new way at an alternative space. I am beyond excited to present a mix of emerging and established artists that I admire to a diverse cross-section of our community.

These group art shows started out after I sold 11 works at my solo show opening reception “All in All” at Verbode in 2015. Sarah Bytiqi who is the owner asked me if I was interested in using the office for the upcoming year as a showroom for my art. She also said that I could do whatever I wanted with the space. What a gift to me! But wait! How could I really harness the full potential of this gift. I am a strength in numbers type of person and I knew that bringing my favorite artists along would provide a much bigger platform.

Fringe-Verbode

So in 2016, I exhibited my work and curated shows featuring art from my favorite artists and people around OKC. In 2018, I shared the space with Fringe Women Artists of Oklahoma; a group I co-founded, marketed and managed from 2011 to 2018.

Exhibit 2-Verbode

For 2019, my goal is to bring as much exposure and sales as possible to a curated selection of local artists and businesses I love at Verbode. It’s a win-win for everyone! Plus, 20% of all sales are donated to the Homeless Alliance. It is free and open to the public. Visitors will be able to meet the artists, enjoy hors d’oeuvres & beverages. Exhibit 2 opens July 25th from 6 to 9 pm so I hope you can join us. If you miss the opening be sure to stop in during gallery hours from 9 to 5 pm or by appt.
